Family Health Education for Adolescents
Importance of delivery of Reproductive and Sexual health education in India because significant demographic is emphasized by current statistics that India has the largest adolescent population.
These figures indicate the importance of specifically addressing the healthcare needs of this considerable demography, the experiment to engage in the types of risky behaviors that have the potential to influence the quality of health and probability of survival in both short- and long-term over their lifetime.
Delivery of tailored made primary preventive measures would significantly, improve the survival and general health conditions, nutritional status, and sexual and reproductive health of the future Indian adult population.
This encompasses issues such as early pregnancy, unsafe abortions, STIs including HIV, and sexual abuse and violence.
Objective: Increases the level of scientific knowledge about Reproductive/ sexual health and their rights for adolescents.
Activities:
(1) Sensitization meeting with School authority:
Under this activity we have organized sensitization meeting with School authorities and principal of the schools have discussed the objective and activities of the program. There is a lot of enthusiasm for these programs and they would like cooperate with us. They said that program is required for adolescent's healthy life.
(2) Teachers Training:
Two days work-shop organized for teacher training in every place, During the training we have use various methodology like Game, Brain Storming, Group work and power point presentation. We have given inputs of family health education scenario and emphasis on the need of reproductive and sexual health education for adolescents.
(3) Classroom Intervention:
Under classroom intervention in 9 Std. Three days program was organized in all the selected schools. Where in topics like environment, health and hygiene, Blood, reproductive system and health, gender issue, STI, HIV/AIDS and accepting a responsible lifestyle was covered in different sessions. A question box facility was there which helped the students to drop-in their queries and questions. Awareness Programs were also held on receiving invitations from the Colleges, NSS, Aganwadi Beneficiaries, and Youth Groups.

The students also took an oath to remove the stigma and discrimination against HIV/AIDS.
